    2 cups olive oil
    3/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    1/4 cup ketchup
    1/4 cup mustard
    1/4 cup A1 steak sauce
    Tabasco to taste
    Worcestershire to taste
    Salt and Pepper to taste

Marinate steaks at least 24 hours. This is a great dressing for salads too. Just whip in some parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

    Any vinaigrette based salad dressing...
(The wise men of modern thought) adore a god made of putty or of wax - plastic, effeminate, molluscous, with no masculine faculty about him, and no quality that entitles him to the respect of just and honest men, for a being who cannot be angry at wrongdoing is destitute of one of the essential virtues, and a moral Ruler who is not angry with the wicked, and who refuses to punish crime, is not divine. ---Spurgeon

    best maranade ...a good brine

I know that the two are different things but I will brine a slab of meat when ever the time permits. the osmotic action of the salt and sugar water brings in much needed moisture and if the right flavors are added to the brine they will come in as well. I use a traeger pellet smoker for all my large slabs ( 5 lb or bigger) low and slow needs moisture to stay inside. A good marinade will only enter the meat so far , requiring a thinner cut. I like the primal cuts 1.5 to 3 inches thick, and without poking it like a tattoo artist and breaking cell walls ( read tough texture) I need to brine. Sorry to rant, the founding fathers knew to brine and it seems to be a lost art.

my mix for rib eye or ny strip preferred

    Large bottle italian dressing
    1 cup Mango Juice
1/4 cup Canadian steak seasoning (Available at Sam's Club)
    1 small cut up onion
    2 cloves freash garlic

Combine all into large pickle Jar and add steaks. Using a vacuum sealer, remove all air and lay in the frigerator, turn about every 30 mins. for about 2 hours before cooking on charcoal grill Kingsford hickory flavored. Have used many times and has always had nothing but great reviews from everyone I have cooked the for. I have friends who visit and drive 900 mile and the first thing they want is my steaks. Just somthing I came up with on my own after trial after trial till I got it right. Enjoy

This is about the way that I do it.

I will marinate some "poorer" cuts of meat, but the best cuts, I rub with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper and a little bit of garlic powder.

For those that I do marinate, I agree that vinaigrette dressings make a VERY good marinate.

Worchestershire sauce about 2 parts with A-1 one part, plenty of black pepper, garlic powder. Salt either in the marinade or before cooking.

Straight up whiskey. Let them soak on each side in a glass pan with the bottom covered in your favorite whiskey for an hour on each side. Then when you put them on the grill, I like to cook a slice of bacon on top of each steak

Wow, thanks for sharing your marinade recipes.

Now I feel so inadequate with the way I prepare steak. I usually just rub crushed garlic and salt on the meat, then sprinkling ground black pepper all over.
