The blue Robinair Cooltech vacuum pumps are American made, and they're a great pump. A lot of people at my company (me included) have the model 15600 6cfm pump.

The sticker on the motor may say Made in China, as the American pumps have Chinese motors on them. Does it have a blue handle or red handle?

It's worth 100 bucks but I definitely would offer 50 and work my way up. Use the made in China card and tell him if it were American made you would drop the 100 no problem.
You need to put the phone down and get back to work!

On the newer ones the Cooltech pumps with the blue handles are the us-made ones (except the motor). The Vaccumaster pumps with the red handles are the imported ones.

The Cooltech pumps with the blue handles are the higher end models and are worth more.

I know this thread is a bit old but thought id share this. Now I know ive been a bad boy pulling vacuums without a micron guage but I finally bought a micron guage. Today while vacuuming one ciircuit of a 10 ton system I was able to pull it down to 234 microns with this 80 dollar robin air pump.
