    When mfrs do this it is because they have the extra capacity built into the condenser to deliver the liquid to the TXV when it opens due to a high load senerio. With a hunting TXV on a tiny critically charged system you risk flood back to the compressor. Now with that said, you can put a TXV in a critically charged system and get it to cool it just wont be right.
