one sad install
I went over today because her previous a/c man kept charging her system up every 2 weeks & wouldnt look for a leak. It didnt take long to find the leak in her condenser. But this is just a sad install.
It doesnt look like the original guy had a hammer drill. lol

To get to the evaporator coil, I had to take the paneling off the wall. It only had a square cut out for the furnace to get combustion air. That big 100,000 btu furnace in a little bitty house.

& if that dont take the cake, the installer had the nerve to run the drain through the bathroom & tie in under the sink. Lord have mercy.

the lady couldnt get approved through my financing company so her daughter is trying to work something out now. I'm wanting to install the Ruud Super Quiet 80 & pipe in outside combustion air. She is going to get her son to frame in a door instead of putting the paneling back over.Life is like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today might burn your ass tomorrow.

Sad
Avatar is a tribute to my Great Grandfather, Andrew Stewart. This pin was one of his advertisements for his heating and plumbing business. I never knew him but must of inherited his love of things mechanical since I am the only blue collar worker in the family

He charged it so much that he even put in a pad for the refrigerant cylinder

That can't possibly be a GOODMAN condensing unit sitting outside, could it? If you've seen the thread going over on the Residential part of HVAC-Talk, some people would like for you to believe that Goodman only sells to reputable dealers. <snicker>

Well at least she didn't go with the lowest bid!
We only want to do it, if we can do it right.

The problem with most hacks is they don't know they are doing it wrong, because they have never seen it done right. Most of them don't want to learn the right way to service or install. It's a shame. The biggest loser is the end user.
