Duct lifts

What type of lifts do you guys use for equipment?

No more Genie lifts. Ridiculously heavy and too bulky.

We will be using it for raising, up to 5 ton, condensers or air handlers on high platforms or ceilings.

Has anyone heard of Vermette Machine Company? They have "one man" movable lifts. It weighs around 220 lbs. Can lift up to 500 lbs. 12' high, and come with 10" wheels. They have a couple different models that range in different heights and able to raise up to 1000 lbs. All are extremely lighter than Genie or Sumner.

We have used the Vermette since I became a SMW a long time ago. the weigh about 1/50th of those damn genies. IMHO they also outperform the genies.



We also use this for working the band iron into hangers and belly bands. (bohn-combi)

How many people do you need to move that around?

1 man easily can move it around. Up and down stairs 2 guys. the masts are removable also

we have 2 of the lifts that look like the vermette lift. one of them we have had over 25 yrs. only thing we have done to it is replace the cable once and welded plates on the mast sections to make them easier to knock apart.

I'm gonna get this one. The 6515.



Specs are just about exactly what I'm looking for when it comes to weight (219lbs.), capacity (650lbs.), and height (15').

And for under $1500, can't beat it.

I used to use them all the time... I love duct lifts... so many uses!

Not that I recommend doing this.... but if you make an attachment to hook a hole hog up to the crank pin, it makes them even easier to use! Course, it can tear stuff up too... so be careful.

I wish we'd get a small one where I work. Another guy and myself almost took a dive off 10' ladders trying to hang a furnace.

We use the SLA 20 Genies. It's expensive, it's heavy and it ain't for sissy's
