    cleaning evaps

I was doing a pm today on a new customer and everything was packed, so after 8 hrs i blew out all the condensers and wrote everything up i saw wrong ( what a list that was 2 pages). Well both walkin cooler evaps are packed full and not getting very good air flow.. I vacuumed the coils with no luck, whats the best way to clean the coils out?

I've been dragging my water hose equipped with a pistol grip spray nozzle right into the box and spraying away after using some coil cleaner first. Make sure your condensate drain is clear first and go easy on the pressure. This is the kind of hose i use. http://lawn-and-garden.hardwarestore...el-650499.aspx

It's light and easy to carry around just don't leave it out in the sun to long because it's also a POS.

Nu Calgon foam brite no rinse cleaner works ok. But for sanitizing and removing dirt between evaporator fins try Simple Green non-toxic 3-1 mix with a hot water rinse using a hose. When you're done you won't smell like a goat.

If they're really caked on, use a wire brush and carefully brush vertically. Then coil cleaner, then the hose if needed.

I have also been disappointed with the green gallon Nu-Cal no rinse. Is that blast a coil in the can?

I usually knock the chunks off with a plastic fin brush first.

Alkaline Nu-brite, diluted and conservatively applied will pretty much eliminate any crud you can imagine. You just have to take the necessary safety precautions with any acid-based cleaner.

Triple D is a good all around non-acid cleaner, too.
