In theory, carry away oil and contaminates out of linsets and coils. Just a brand name. There are other flushing agents.
some smell similar to Epoxy Paint thinners! DO NOT GET ON SKIN as possible: MSDS and all- it is the solvent series that quickly absorbs into you, and your-systems are affected every time; like PVC solvents---
Some companies dual compressors for 2 and 3 staging are linked with a parallel line at ~ 3" off the flooring/pan-
and T-offed ports that are easily opened in operation (a little open) .
When opened, then excess oil blows out [hoes or foams into a cup] to level (deMini's) - done.
any recommended impervious hand protection and eye protection required
and it works perfectly well to achieve a 'right-level'
-wait 'til you have to silver solder one of these flare-ports to a can... tilting down as you drill, saving chips with a magnet, cleaning and closing... missing the motor windings ~ 3/3" away inside.-- when the OEM replacement compressor did not have the port assembled !
quite odly---if it were ever super critical, -could port any can for oil-leveling- virtually hand-turning drill once piercing the can.
cleaned and primed painted black for corrosion protection
common to a few OEM's as with dual-compressor 3-staging annually operating very much like variable VFD's performance (-eh?) for the past 3 decades, in the field
Now that sounds like a lot of trouble! I wouldn't want to be the guy to drill that hole...
DRILL that geothermal heat pump hole in a compressor !!
