    Goodman gsx1330 compressor

Im replacing the compressor next week. Along with the liquid line drier would you install a suction line drier? The valves are bad on this compressor. Both pressures are reading the same

Only if it were a burn out and acid was present in the system.

What would make the valve go bad? The unit is 3yrs old. I really didnt think to much into it being a warrant replacement. Both pressure held at 220psig

The only valve you have then is a discharge check valve. If it's running but not pumping it would have to be a problem with the scroll plates not moving.

BTW, not trying to do anything but be thorough here.

    Were all of these confirmed:

Line voltage on compressor side of the contactor

Did you take an amp draw reading on the wires coming off the compressor?

    Confirm capacitor?

If yes and all was ok did you then check the windings?

It's just not very often you get a scroll that won't pump but doesn't go out on overload, trip a breaker or have another component bad.
