Siemens PXC24 Compact + HMI -> DB9. HOW does this work?

I'm quite familiar w/ serial connections, etc.

    I have a Siemens PXC24.

I have a generic RJ12 -> DB9 cable (I got it off Amazon, since I couldn't find the official Siemens one)

I have tried for weeks to connect to it and see the "magical" telnet menu. Yet, I have yet to see this?? How do you get into these dang controllers?

I've tried 9600 Baud, None, 1, None, from direct db9 ports, from usb->serial converters, etc, to no avail.

I am using PUTTY as my dumb terminal, though I've been unsuccesful using just about any dumb terminal. Help is much appreciated!

Hi, I am having the same problem. I think it's the RJ12->DB9 converter that is the problem. I am trying to communicate with PXC16-P.A with a generic RJ45->DB9 converter. It doesn't work. The pinouts must be different. Please let me know if you solve this.
