    WTF!

Besides the disconnect! This has got to be the stupidest design ever. WTF did they forget to slice the panel in 3 pieces. Or did they not want you fixing it?

Someone must have thrown a brick at the engineers on this. Newer style ones of this model all have separate panels.

I have never enjoyed servicing those units.
I do three kinds of work.
    1 - Good - 2 - Fast - 3 - Cheap
    Pick two

they have never worked on one in there lives, so have no idea that this is a bad idea, and yes the installer thought this was easier place to put disconnect.

Those carriers are a pain, you put your hoses on and now there's a big gap into the duct.

I know that disconnect P!ssed me off! This particular unit was a no cool call! Found the return fire damper shut! Pressures and temp about normal if it was 76 inside the conditioned space! But, it was 88! Found a big hole also in the return past the damper allowing a little bit of hot airflow threw! But, not enough!

You need to put the phone down and get back to work!

I got to admit! Carrier has built a good unit before! This relic appeared to be all original! Dual shaft condensor/blower motor finally gave up the ghost after what?42 yrs or so? Owner said to fix it! So i did!
