    Condenser varible speed drive faults RTAA110.

    Has anyone experienced varible speed drive fault on these machines?

    I have seen many VFD faults on these.

    Have you been replacing the inverter board? The unit came with no literature on the varible speed drives.What is the trouleshooting procedure?

    I think the JCI board is the newest version VFD board, any versions before that will fail. They have been through quite a few board revisions since the unit was introduced. There is a section dedicated to the VFD troubleshooting in the RTAA manual.

    I replaced one last summer and it only lasted about a week before faulting out again. I had one of the guys from our chiller team to look at it to see if he could see something I may have missed. He got a new board under warranty and it only lasted about another week. The customer didn't want to spend any more money on it after that.
