I'm not trying to be an @ss, but I wonder if it's just a matter of time before the Mexican folks take over the HVAC commercial and residential work? Here in Ft. Worth, that is about the only building trade they don't own--and maybe some electricians jobs. Laura Ingraham was on Bill O'Rielly tonight, and she was right when she said this is going to take jobs from the middle class and drive down wages. O'Rielly went wild with disagreement, but he is a country club good ole boy republican.

No I'm against the bill. With the far left in control in the Senate and a alien commie as President it would be impossible to get a good bill.

O'Rielly is IMHO a very PC Republican when the subject is about a minority in any way.

This way he keeps his hands clean and cannot be charged being a "rascist" in any way. Don't care much for cowards like that.

That's what is wrong with America and the rest of the Western world. Thank you, thank you very much

The whole problem with immigration is the welfare state, as long as immigrants can suck off the fat of the land and leach off our pocket books I am against it. I am against any thing that is a law coming out of DC as well. They have no passed any good laws since 1776.

Looks like more affirmative action as well?

Obama is not going to sign any immigration bill that does not include amnesty. Remember, protect thyself first.

The only way you're going to get public support to restrict immigration is to get the illegals already here to realize that further immigration threatens their jobs. Maybe then, the tide might turn a little. However, you are talking about a people who grew up under a fascist socialist government as well as a very domineering and controlling religion that teaches blind allegiance. They have been trained to be sheep all their lives and not to think freely.

"and she was right when she said this is going to take jobs from the middle class and drive down wages." I have been seeing this going on for easily 15 years.
Used to be I would go into a fast food place for lunch and better than half of the people taking the customer orders were retirees making a few extra bucks and a pimple face high school kid or too. Very very different workforce today.
The trades are another example of big change and what was once a decent way to start out making a living wage is all but gone and much of the earned wages get spent out of this country.

Illegals here are mostly trash people. Throw-away junk. I have been to Mexico and met many fine Mexicans, none of them would go sneaking across a border illegally. Only trash people do that.

Unless the border is 100% fenced and secured the whole thing is a waste of tax payers money. The border is very porous and having spent a lot of time deer hunting within a few miles of it I can tell you that there are paths as wide as cattle trails all along it heading north and south every few hundred yards with lots of permanent makeshift hiding places under trees that cannot be seen until you stumble upon them.
I have also spent some time in Mexico both in Juarez and far back into the Sierra Madres. There is a lot of poverty and frankly I don't see how people can live there. Couple that with crime from the cartels and the inability of the government to provide simple protection to the citizens it's no wonder they flock here in hoards.
The bill will probably pass with amnesty as part of it but in what form we will just have to wait and see as it has really become a do or die for the democrats.
I'm tired of hearing that our immigration system is "broken". It has been "disregarded" and largely ignored. Pass some sort of revised immigration modification to give those here illegally some sort of legal status with a timeline but definitely do not fork over citizenship.

The senators and congressmen only act in their own self-interest. The middle class has been sold out by them. That's why I'm not ready to give up on America just yet. Our only hope is to return to our Christian heritage and culture and replace these douchebags that are currently running the show.

Fencing the border wont do no good cause it will be a government project and they will half ass it.

Only real way to secure the border would be mines and heavy armed patrols with orders to soot anything moving.

Also... I dont know if you have read the bill or not...especially since its been amended and changed.... but it pretty much says that once you are on our soil you will have the chance to become a citizen.

Some french mathmatician or german super smart chemist will have to go thru all the hoops of immigration but if you jump that fence they are just going to rubber stamp you.

Yep... heavy machineguns and possibly mines are our only hope. Anything less is just a waste of my money and yours.

And Yep.... Looks like the pugs are out to destroy wages in this country just as much as the dems...... cause that is the biggest reason from flooding the country with these people. Increase the supply of workers...especially those who will work for nothing.... and it drags us all down with them.

Why hasn't anyone had the balls to openly complain about the Mexican government? They have already run their country into the toilet. Ok, that wasn't much of a challenge but what have they done to improve their country and entire people to remain in Mehico? They are more than happy to dump millions of hungry campesinos on us. As for the illegals already here, why are they not fighting the flood? Sure, I understand you might want to bring family here but unrestricted immigration takes jobs away from them, too. At what point will these illegals realize that: a) conditions here are going down quickly and will soon make the US look like Mexico and B) life back in Mexico may not be so bad afterall?

What has the Mexican government done to encourage job growth? NAFTA? Please.... They could do a lot to vitalize their economy but they won't because too many people hold too much power as long as things remain the way they are and that goes for the US as well as Mexico and the rest of the world. Reformers tend to disappear rather quickly.

You announce that any new arrivals will be given the jobs of those illegals already here working and watch how fast they point out the location of all the tunnels and "underground railroad'.

The problem can be solved. Too many powerful people gain their power from it not being solved.
