This was something that was told to me in the past from a trustworthy source. Now, I find myself in a situation at work, dealing with an impacted CHW coil that would run >$6K to replace. The theory sounds ok, I guess. Since the UV lights are a "surface purifier", it'd actually reflect its way deep into the fins of the coil to kill bacteria particles, and that would actually free up dirt and dust particles. I seen products out there that look like massive UV assemblies that mount in the filter racks. Would something like that do the trick? Will something simpler do? Any opinions or experiences, before I present this idea to the powers that be?
