Josh?
You've been a member for less then 2 years. And joined 1 month before the AOP rules took affect. The restricted Pro forums were created in 2006, which is also before you joined. So how can you miss the old days, when you weren't even a member back in the old days.
You've had enough post to apply for Pro membership since 2011. Its up to you to apply.
You got suspended because you kept posting in peoples AOP threads even though you were warned twice that you have to be a vetted Pro * member to be allowed to post in them.
Who's Josh? What did he do?
And to the moderator, who said I hadn't lurked as a guest for a long time?
i lurked for couple years here and other places,no need to look any where else, this is the best hands down.

Because he was messing with you probably. I know him very well.
I don't think I have known anybody who has been banned off this site.
I've known many
Consider this.
I was a part of an aviation forum for several years, run by one a guy, a midwest flight instructor. He was the mod, and always struck a fair tone, and many of us went to his funeral when he was unexpectedly killed in an accident, hit by another plane during training maneuvers.
Then, his family handed the forum reins over to another guy, a former pilot in the armed forces, who was an IT specialist and code writer. Overnight, things took a nose dive, as this atheist took down thousands of posts that mentioned God or anything that suggested Him to the new owner.
Today, that forum still exists, but instead of the community of friends and professionals it had become, it is a shadow of its former self; a sterile, small, nearly dead place with a few posts every once in a while.
Here, we have a group of folks who come together to provide a structure with some some rules. It is a reasonable balance between that sterile place and the kind of chaos that can be found in some places on the internet.
So, if you are warned about something, respect that warning.
It's simple.
If you want to post in AOP, get vetted for that. There is no reason for anyone to fear becoming a Pro member, either. That's paranoia.
So, it's not rocket science to avoid being banned.
I'm just sayin'....
