Its just a suspension. 9 days left on it.

He would have to become a Pro member, and then after accepted, apply to be vetted and receive his * to post in the AOP forums.

That's fine.. I did post in wrong location and it is their website to kick me out. The funny thing is my posting was saying to a homeowner not to DIY ( was a electrical wiring question) and to seek professional help. This morning ( after the dual Moderator police deal ) I reposted in same place stating that even though I posted in the wrong spot, My advice hopefully convinced this homeowner not to DYI which may have lead him to DIE. No "pros" came to offer this same advice, but buddy, the moderator police sure came quick for me.
Okay, how about some quick history.

We all thought long and hard about the AOP forum, and how it would have limits, and how those limits would be implemented. There were a number of pros and cons, but what we came up with has worked well so far.

A few of us agreed that we would keep an eye on it, so that it remained within the boundaries we had finally agreed upon.

I'm sure you are not the first poster to feel a little uncomfortable, but once you are off suspension, read through the links that several of us have at the bottom of all our posts, and do some reading in the AOP to get a feel of what is done, and how.

Then, use the links to apply for the Pro level of membership, and the * mark after "Professional Member" that shows you were vetted for the AOP. Pro member first, then the * after that.

As a Pro member, you will also have access to our extensive Educational Forums, which has a lot of good info in it. I know the guy who wrote some of it.

The dust will settle and you will find that this is a great place to be a better tech and owner too, and a better informed consumer.

I made a similar mistake and that's all it was , a mistake , except I posted on the AOP like 5 times in one day , and the moderators were understanding about the situation . I didn't read the "rules" as well as I should have and all was forgiven ( I hope , lol ) but its really just a standardized response that everyone and anyone would get and not a personal attack , just saying

Okay. Here is how it works. You get caught posting in the AOP forums without your *. We notify your elementary, middle, and high school. And they put a permanent mark on your record. LOL

JP and I are the ones that give and track the warnings. We simply enforce the rules. We use canned warnings, so its copy and paste. We don't make it personal.

    The policing is ok.

What some of us have a problem with is the unwarranted restrictions and revocation of certain accesses and/or posts in certain areas. Even when the moderators and site developers know damn well who these people are. I personally know 20 long time members of this forum (10+ years), who have been treated like garbage due to a lack of discretion on the moderators part, I'm just saying.

This site could be much better if it was like it was in the old days. Open-minded discussion with a little free speech. I miss those days.

You've been a member for less then 2 years. And joined 1 month before the AOP rules took affect. The restricted Pro forums were created in 2006, which is also before you joined. So how can you miss the old days, when you weren't even a member back in the old days.

You've had enough post to apply for Pro membership since 2011. Its up to you to apply.

You got suspended because you kept posting in peoples AOP threads even though you were warned twice that you have to be a vetted Pro * member to be allowed to post in them.
