    the music notes is a position that beeps and is useful for continuity and semiconductor checking.

    notice the position of the pointer on the knob. It is in an undefined position. It might say 'ouch' when the knob gets twisted too far.

    The amp position has rubbed off. That's why it looks "undefined"
