I just realized why the post office is on the endangered species list
too much freedom.
you can buy a stamp and send a letter anonymously.
Big Brother doesn't like that.
it's unlikely they will change the system to collect everyone's info who sends a letter, so with the goal of collecting the sender's information, the obvious solution is to privatize the entire mail system where you have to pay (and give your info) for delivery.
Man! ...i'm looking forward to hearing about the big unsolvable budget crisis that be goin' on.
OH CRAP! ...AND THAT'S WHY THEY'RE SELLING EVERYONE "FOREVER" STAMPS.
the post office will be gone and you're holding forever stamps!
I wonder what percentage of their income is from junk mail? I doubt they would ever tell.
Heck, have they ever operated in the black?
The Post Office has a money problem because it's the only agency that's expected to make a profit. All other agencies can be a money pit. The IRS is a collection agency.
So why is the PO singled out to be the money maker?
Privatization is not a victim-less crime.
Tracers work both ways.
My neighbor is a carrier and stops at home 4-6 time/day to use the bathroom, start dinner in a slow cooker etc. Our tax dollars hard at work right there folks.

Just to pile on a little bit, sense when it is acceptable to wear any uniform improperly? I rarely see a letter carrier with their shirt tails tucked in. It's as if they are all revolting against authority. They also wear head bands ala' Cheech & Chong. Again, not exactly professional headgear. Some actually wear it Rambo-style with a long tail flapping around. Seriously?
