New Lennox equipment:
XC14-048 4 ton
PCO 16-28 Lennox PureAir with MERV 16 air filter, UV lights, Catalyst Plate with activated carbon
Honeywell Focus Pro digital thermostat
New bar type return air grills and supply air registers
Main PVC condensate drain is trapped with serviceable access tee/plug. Trapped so one does not hear air bubbling in the condensate pump and insulated to keep trap from sweating.
Overflow PVC drain line is routed to pump in case of back-up of main drain.
Pump safety switch is wired to open compressor circuit.
Yellow pump drain hose (connected to 3/8" copper drain line) was purchased from McMaster Carr part number 5288K12 $1.54 FT.
External TXV valve for easy access in case of need to service.
Insulated case factory coil goes further up into sleeve so sleeve sheet metal does not need to be insulated.
Added fused disconnect.
Added two-inch ABS couplings to factory unit feet to elevate unit to three-inch elevation above grade (for code around here).
Secured unit in place with (2) hold-downs.
Taped over suction line insulation (Rubitex) with 10 MIL Christy's pipe wrap tape for UV protection.
Installed two-piece pre-painted (white) line-set cover (backing wall plate and cover). Cover is made from pre-painted 12" wide aluminum gutter material. We break it up in our shop.
Refrigerant system was put together with Nitrogen flow, vacuum pulled to 300 micron's and adjusted to 8° Sub Cooling per factory specs.
