Impossible to tell. The level of water may be only 1" on a new tank depending on water hardness, or dissolved minerals allowing current to pass through the water. As the electrodes become fouled the level increases untill either the current becomes too low to heat the water or arcing in the tank occurs and the electrodes are completely fouled. the tank will over fill initally and then slowly dump and refill untill thei initial operationg level is found by the current sensor. I usually mark the tank on start-up and every oportunity there-after, I also check and log amp draw on each electrode, Nortec states that average operating life of the steam generator tank is 500-1500 hours depending water quality. This is energized hours, not installed hours.

their website is humidity.com the canister HW sensor is right near the top, like 1-1.5 inches from the top.
not sure what you're asking, because mineral content will make or break any number we give you.
have you ever seen what happens after the water main is opened on the street right out in front of the site?
it's like a lightning display, even on new canisters.
It's great to be alive and pumping oxygen!
