Sheet metal question
New to sheet metal here....Say you wanted to order rectangular sheet metal with all four sides overlapping...would you ask for "S" or "Drive" seams?

I'm assuming your talking about rectangular fitting...so I would say "S"

If you want four piece ductwork, that's what you ask for. just decide if you want pittsburg seams of snap lock seams. the but end of the ductwork is S and Drive, or raw all S, or duct mate, or TDF.
If common sense is so common how come so few of us have it!

Not sure what you are asking.
S or Pittsburgh seams are sealed tighter, but you need drives to put the thing together at some point.Hey cockroach, don't bug me! ©

S or Drive seams are use mostly in residential jobs, you could either use drives or s-clit for the end joints and S or Pittsburgh for the sides, with a Pittsburgh joint depending on the duct size you could make the fitting out of a single piece of sheet metal, S joints requires 2 or more pieces. Commercial ductwork uses Pittsburgh locks for the seams and duct mater for the joints.
