Not sure if it helps but I tore one down pretty quick to get to the cap. They seem pretty tough also, that one ran on 220 for abit and still worked after
I have a chance to buy a used one at a very reasonable price. Only problem, I can't test it or inspect it first since it is out of state.
My question for the guys that have them, or Appion-Chris, are they easily field serviceable? Can I get parts and fix it if something is worn out?

Ya they aren't too bad as long as the valves didn't melt down in the head like mine did. Then it's a PITA. Otherwise, not so bad.
Fan got stuck against the housing and it overheated. They sell a rebuild kit that has everything you will need. There isn't much to em.
It does have a thermal overload, either it failed or wasn't quite there I guess.
Very easy for field service, and very easy to performance test. Page 14 of the operating manual describes a bench test that takes a minute or less (http://www.appioninc.com/downloads/f...win_Manual.pdf), and parts and part kits are pretty affordable. If you get the machine and there's any performance issues, just give us a call and we'll work you through what parts will likely get the machine up to snuff.
Thermal overload switches will protect components like the motor, but there's no reasonable way to target a thermal switch at the compressor valves. With the cooling fan blocked, broken, or otherwise not providing sufficient airflow, this heat can rise quite a bit, while the motor continues to run cool. This is a repair we can walk you through the "easy way" as well, though we don't see it often (and we haven't seen it unless there has been a lack of airflow through the machine).
I have had mine for about 2 years and the few problem I have had I was able to repair fairly quickly, and parts seem readily available.
Thanks for the responses!
i have 2 one that works good and another that needs to be rebuilt ( cooling fan quit and over heated)
Good recovery machine! I would by another no problem.
I did buy it, should be arriving today.
If you used paypal the money doesn't get released until you tell paypal the G5 is good. If not good, once you send the G5 back Julio at the other end says to paypal "got it back" and you get your money back.
Hope it turns out alright.
It seems to be good, I did the test Christian referred to in the manual. It says the machine should reach 550 psi in less than a minute and this one takes 30 seconds. So it must be in good shape.
A little scuffed from normal use, but nothing broke or missing. Not too bad for $350.
And I noticed some guys complaining about the noise. I was impressed by how quiet it is compared to the machines I'm used to using!
I was impressed how small it is, not bulky at all. You guys did a great job designing this machine.
