We have a split coil, hot deck/cold deck water unit which is supplying a single area in our building.
Statement was brought up that we couldn't satisfy on hot days and never have been, the unit was to small.
Upon investigation I found that 1 damper motor is controlling both dampers for the hot and cold decks.
But that both dampers are either open or shut on the same swing.
Odd. Which means that I am pushing 50% bypass return and makeup air on a hot day. Why?
Anyone tell me why they wouldn't modulate these together to close when the other opens or vise versa? I've yet to see this as a standard.
