What was your alarm display on your operating controller? Your cannister may be max usage, did the contactor pull in for the electrodes? If you filled it and it drained w/o the contactor pulling in can has reached max.Go to lieb ert.com for IOM's.

    Thumbs up two things

    depending on the style,
some are true electrolisis steam generated, meaning they pass current thru the water, and if the water is CLEAN, meaning there isnt enough conductivity it wont steam, this usually occurs after and dump and fill cycle, I have had to add salt to the water to get one to start steaming, second if the heat element rods have depeleted then its time to replace the steam generator canistor.
    If you cant cool it

Check the run/drain switch. The canister will not be hot if water is not staying in it.

Posting the Model number makes it possible to help. You have a 1 1/2 ton MiniMate With a steam generator Humidifier.

Here is your link to the manual... Section 6.3.1 deals with the humidifier...

    Good luck

If the fill valve is open but the cylinder dosen't fill, the drain valve probably has crap in it. Clean the drain valve.

read 6.3.2 add small amount of salt to water and see if it goes to steaming
if it does then have the water checked for the incoming conductivity levels
some city water is so clean it wont steam, the conducitivy level should be above 200
I added an swimming pool chlorinator to one once so it would keep working for an extended time frame, the city water was below 60 and wouldnt pass the current of the steam generator
