    minimum outside temp for ac

Our buyers have an ac guy coming tomorrow to test our a/c.

My question - is there a minimum temperature that the outside air temp needs to be to startup the system? Its warming up, but still pretty cold here in Pittsburgh. I do not want to have damaged caused by any testing.

    Thanks

It would all depend on what type of system you have in regards to what type of controls you have on the outside unit.

In most cases, the answer is no. Most manufacturers' charging charts start in the 60's. Barring low ambient controls, variable or dual stage systems, and/or commercial applications, now is not a good barometer for ac performance.
