I dealt with a couple of builders back in the 80's that built them. Two problems that I remember. The owners had to cut the roof grass and the only access was out the front as the back was in the ground. Some of the homes just stayed cold and damp too. And they did not fit into the neighborhood as they just looked like a pile of dirt on a lot until the front door and windows were spotted.
I have not seen one built in a residential neighborhood since the 80's.
