Thread: mini splits

    mini splits

    never really had to size a minisplit system. was wondering if it is the same as sizing a normal system or not anyone with any experiance doing this your help would be appreciated.

    More or less its the same, due to capacity control, over sizing is not as big of a deal as with conventional splits.

    Air distribution is not quite as good, so multiple heads can be an effective fix for that

    I still size them to 100% heat gain and no more, I have had customers that wanted to go bigger, only to find the unit ran a couple degrees warmer then the setting to prevent it from shutting down and ending the dehumidifying process. The right size is always the size to install with any system. I like to sell absolute comfort, not peace of mind that it might not be big enough.
