Question about the Muslim prophet (Attn:Kefah)

This isn't a snide question, it's just something an old friend told me a long time ago about Muhammad. Is it true that until his encounter with the Angel/agent of God that he was illiterate and that during that encounter that he was granted the ability to read? Is that true or was my friend pulling my leg?

No, muhammad was champ of the world.
It's not if your doing it right it's whether your doing the right thing that is important.

My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution."
