    Considering 2 new replacement Systems (2.5 ton AC/60-70K BTU 80% AFUE Furnace/Coil)

    Hello,

I am considering the following 2 systems: (All systems referenced have been properly sized)

    Trane:
    Condensor: XB-14 (4TTB4030E) 2.5 Ton (Up to 16.5 Seer)
    Furnace: XT-80 (TUD1B060A9H31B) (60K BTU 80% ACFU)
    COIL: TRANE 4TXCC044BC3

    April Aire System Installed
Looking at this Easy to Use Thermostat (Emerson 1F95EZ-0671)

The Furnace is only 17.5" Wide but the coils are 21" to get to the 16 SEER Level for Tax Credit (AHRI 3442927) My question is can a 21 inch coil be used on a 17.5" furnace?

Is this Trane System a good basic setup?

The 2nd system is a Carrier System

Condensor: Carrier Performance Series 16 (24ACC630A**30) 2.5 Ton (Up to 16 Seer)
Furnace: Performance Boost 80 Furnace (58PHA070-16 66K BTU)
    COIL: CNPH*3117A**

    April Aire filter installed

Looking at this Easy to Use Thermostat (Emerson 1F95EZ-0671)

Any opinions about either system would be apprciated
