    Does the drive itself accept your fieldbus? Lon? Which can tell you the speed?

    Do the VFD's have a Lonworks interface option card installed or available? A lot have this option now and perhaps that would be a simpler solution since you get a multitude of data out of it to utilize for speed (Hz, Amps, Ref Hz as seen by drive etc.)

    That is a good thought. I believe they are Danfoss VFDs. I will look into that as a option. That would be a lot more accurate.

    Sample and hold. I've used it for years for static pressure sequences and it works pretty solid.
