that was all in fact that was in it.

However it still doesn't cover Joe Snuffy selling to his neighbor.
It was a compromise bill, but even that was too much for some lawmakers.

More importantly, it does nothing further to enforce the existing laws that are already on the books, yet the criminals seem to ignore....
The exsisting laws do not address sales by unlicensed persons at gun shows and on the net.

And you think that is the only problem we have with guns in the US? Selling without a background check???

And you might want to find new sources. There was more in that bill.

Background checks for weapon sales by unlicensed persons at gunshows and on the internet.

I would have thought that to be amazingly clear and easily understandable.

And would it have applied to Eric Holder and his Fast and Furious program? Pretty sure those wouldn't have passed a check. Oh wait, it was illegal to sell to them anyway!

    What was I thinking????

Not by a long shot but it at least addresses one problem.

And you might want to find new sources. There was more in that bill.
That was the major point of the bill.

What else was in the bill. Be specific please.

No doubt. . Oh wait, it was illegal to sell to them anyway!
Thus the dire need for background checks for all buyers at gunshows.

    What was I thinking????
    Who knows?

You did however you did clearly illustrate why the law was needed.

You intimated that you already knew what was in the bill, so no research needed.

That being the case you should be able to answer off t top of your head. No sweat, bo fuss.

    And what problem?
No background checks for buyers from unlicensed people at gunshows. was this not clear?

You claimed there were other things in the bill. Time to name those other things.

Time to back up your assertion. Your turn.

We will make no further comment on the extreme pro-gun bias of your sources as the bias would be obivious to a dead blind man.

In reading your links I found none of them denied that private sales occur. They quibbled about numbers from a 1997 study but still could not deny that private sales occur at these shows.

Of course they somehow forgot to mention a 2000 study conducted by the ATF that identified unlicensed sellers at gun shows were one source of weapons for felons and juveniles.
