    Confused Anyone ever Ask Why Does the MFG not put on Low pressure Controlls? Tandem Swap Pic

    We found a 20 ton Dual Tandem With Bristols Rusted out...The belly of #2 Blew charge,oil,refrigerant all out the bottom,
    Found it no gas Both Compressors Still Running!!!!
    Swapped Easily over to Tandem 5s Copeland Scrolls....
    No low pressure Controls Dumb Dumb Dumb.....
    we have Close to 30 Lennox RTU's 90% dont have Low Pressure Controls. The installers have ordered Economizers so theyre not stripped units so who no low pressure controls?

    To answer the question ....COST. The 5 dollars it would have cost to prevent this might have resulted in a different equipment selection. Also , if you look into NAFTA that will will really get you twisted up as to why things are the way that they are. Manufacturers are burdoned to say the least.

    Thats when The Mfg of the most prominent part needs to step up and say if you put my compressor,board,coil ,the unit as a whole has to have anti-failier devices
    in place. its just plain dumb. thought this way for years..
    Ive had 6 month old units fail from a failier of a 89 cent Schrader that burnt up a $800 compressor because it just kept runnin.....
