I've been a long time fireplace installer (15 plus years) then transferred to a HVAC/ Fireplace company. Found out I enjoyed the installation of residential HVAC equipment more than that of the fireplaces. Left the HVAC industry after carpel tunnel surgery to run a small commercial landscape company. Got bored and fat sitting behind the desk so I started installing fireplaces again. I subcontract out for a masonry company and have grown to the point that I can no longer work 2 full time jobs. I figure that I can be my own boss and only work half days (12 hrs) so its only a matter of time before I return to HVAC. Time to hone my skills and remember all that has been forgotten. Strong on installation, weak on service skills and hoping sites like this and the local supply house classes will bring me up to speed.
