Who gets stuck being on call

Just wondering what kind of positions in this industry do not have to be on call?

I'm only on call every third week so its not that bad. I've worked for small shops where I was the only service guy and I was on call 24/7/365 and it sucked

I'm on call once a month, for the whole week, Monday thru Friday after 5pm to 8am, after 5pm on Saturday and all day on Sunday. Oh wait this week is my on call week this month.

Our company has 2 techs and we swap weeks, go from Monday morning to Monday morning. Today was my first day on call this week. Got 13 hours in.
