Bank repossesses wrong home in Ohio

Oops! A homeowner in Ohio says the bank repossessed her home by mistake and sold all her belongings while she was on vacation.

Katie Barnett told Columbus TV station WBNS she came home from two weeks away to find her locks changed and her home empty.

She had to crawl through a window to get in.

Barnett called police and found out that the repo man had apparently made a mistake, and was supposed to clear out the foreclosed home across the street.

Some of the items in her house had been hauled away. Others were sold, given away or trashed.

"We had a seven-piece patio set out here," Barnett told WBNS while standing in her backyard. "All of that's gone."

She's asked the bank to pay her $18,000 for her losses, but the bank president refuses.

He told WBNS they're trying to reach some kind of settlement.
I miss you mom and dad.

No excuse for this to happen. The wrong house was demolished around Fort Worth a week or so ago.

    I found the story.

Btw, the bank didn't repossess the wrong home. This persons home was not being threatened with foreclosure or repossession. You can't repossess something that you didn't have a right to.
What this employee/contractor and bank did was steal this persons possessions and fence them.
The bank and anyone involved should face criminal charges for theft.
Anyone else that breaks into a home and steals gets jail time. The bank involved should be held accountable just the same.
