    Manitowoc water pump temp

Hi, is the manitowoc Q series water pump motor suppose to be very hot to the touch? I replaced an old one because it wasnt pumping enough water and it was hot to the touch but now the new one is pumping right but is even hotter than the old one. Is this normal operating temp? Thanks.

Might want to check the voltage input and current draw. Also if the distribution tubes are clear and unobstructed.
If you really know how it works, you have an execellent chance of fixin' er up!

Tomorrow is promised to no one...

Icemachine water pumps can get REALLLLLLY hot. Some even have warnings on them and 140F is not uncommon at all.

Idontgetit's right. Most of the pump motors have a sticker on the top warning of high operating temp.
