Did you try it on a pump?
Does the reading change?
just got it this week and man is it great.
Used it a few times on a couple recovery jugs. With a old vacuum pump that was so called "bad".
Pulled a 100lb cylinder down to 80 and it only rose to 150 in 10 mins. will pull down just a brass coupler from trutech down below 100 in 20 seconds and 2 mins maybe less to below 20.
But now it is reading 0 microns at atm pressure.
Changed the battery and still doing it.
Any idea why and how to resolve problem?
thanks

ran it on a pump for about a hour and it finally went away and started readling properly.been using it prolly 3 hours total today and it did not happen again.
Took it a while to reset must have had oil or something on the sensor.
Thats weird then.
It was at 0 microns not hooked up to anything for about 10 mins- then hooked it to a vacuum pump and got stuck working on something else cut it back on it and was reading properly.
I have used it alot today because i was playing with our vacuum pump graveyard and vacuuming out recovery tanks(9). 3 out of 4 pumps that were "bad" (sad to say before we used micron gauges) are good now. changed the oil and tightened a couple of fittings and one capacitor later. They all pull down between 20-60 microns in under a minute. We got one frankesteen pump up and running with parts off of the one that i couldn't get working. It has a bad seal too bad its not just the oil resovior seal its coming from underneath.
They are all robinair pumps i know one is a 6 cfm pump the other ones the labels are wore off. For doing that i got an okay to order some new micron gauges for our techs looks like they will get some yellow uei / (bluvacs) from jmart and can get rid of some of the old ones that are not very accurate at all.
Thanks BluVac
I never tried but is zero a selection on the alarm setting. Maybe it was stuck where you would have set the alarm

klee7013,
The behavior you described is not normal. Keep an eye on it. If it happens again, call me at my shop and I'll repair it for you. The number is on my website http://accutools.com.
Apologies for the problem.
Will do Joey. Thanks for the help
Mine (lte) keeps getting stuck in calibration mode.
Either says "soon”, or good, but will not let me exit. I have to pull the battery.
I have cleaned it, and will try to calibrate if it will let me!

I bought my Thermal micron gauge 20 years ago, no problems to the date.
ive had my bluvac for over a year now and from time to time it will not pull down as it should....i use the same setup every time and im at the point to where im not trusting what it is reading. I clean it with alcohol and still gives me trouble. Any recommendations?
Well, my bluvac just died a horrible death!
Somehow the screen looks as if it melted into a puddle of solder in two spots.
Any ideas as of how that could happen?
Too hot?
Had to use my sman4 to pull a vac & hated doing that

Seems none of these (by any manufacturer) stay working for long.
I've not seen a failure like this. Call me at the office (number's on the web site) to arrange repair.
Energy, since 2010, I've shipped thousands of BluVacs and BluVac LTEs. I've gotten a handful back for repair. As far as I know, at this point I have one unhappy customer.
