    Goodman furnace not draining

Working on a 2 year old GMS90703BXA, condensate will not drain while its running. Shut it off it'll drain. Nothing is plugged.

    #1. Remove Goodboy equipment.
    #2. Discard in trash receptacle.
    #3. Install professional brand equipment.

Loosing negative pressure on the inducer suction side. Could be cracked trap or bad collector box seal. Have to call a pro and even at that it may be hard for an experience guy to find right away.

    what equipment do you prefer?

does this mean you wont fix anything unless it is your favorite equipment?

for starters, i would at least make sure the trap had water in it!

A qualified tech should check all the hoses, fittings, and trap. If that's you-register as pro.

Check to make sure all the condensate lines are in their proper position. Have to get the book out for this one.

    Goodman

You are lucky if that is the only problem you have with the Goodman. Don't worry you will get to change the fan relay soon.

Do you have pictures you could post?
If any one shortened the plastic pipes that stick down into the trap, it will change the characteristics of the trap.
The top of the trap MUST be lower than 2" below the hole in the side of the furnace for the drain to work properly.

Does it drain with the top access pannel removed? If it does, you could have a combustion air supply problem.

Measure the static pressure at the collection box cover drain with a mannometer to see what the inducer is doing.

For MOST brands the inducer will pull 2" wc and therefore the trap must be lower than 2" below the lowest condensing tap....

Ignore those who belittle Goodman, they are jellous that they cannot compete with price and generaly repair the ones that have been improperly installed in the first place...
