Did you get a no go when you applied? You have to apply after 15 posts related to the industry, beyond that I wouldn't know because I'm not involved but I've read your posts before and they seem pretty legit, do you have a license or EPA card?

Baffles are used to slow down the air movement to get more heat transfer for efficiency and also to creat turbulance to help heat transfer. so with that said if you shorten the baffles it is actually running cooler allowing the hot fumes of combustion to escape faster. Now explain to me how that would start the rtu on fire. by the way its still working and has not tripped out. you most be a union worker, paid to much and know to little, but always think your right.

I Have just started reading in the middle but im curious if you checked the vent to the combustion, is there anyway you may be getting a back draft in there during a high wind time? . Some units just go straight outside of the unit, while some units require an elbow.
