Compressor contacts
Today I was checking contactors on a rack. They were controlling Carlyle compressors which only gave me an LRA of 120. Is a rule of thumb divide by 7 and that should be your RLA? With this information the contactors were 40amp I even found a 60 amp contactor. What size contactors should be installed?

The current rating of a contactor CAN be greater than needed, but not LESS than needed.
I agree that I would not be using a rule of thumb.[Avatar photo from a Florida training accident. Everyone walked away.]
