    Geothermal Purge/Flush Cart

Hey all, I'm curious to know how much some of you paid for your purge carts, and where you purchased them from. My company is looking into buying one pretty quickly due to a new construction job we are warrantying. Any info you have is helpful, as I will look into it.

    Commercial or residential?

The one I designed and provided directions for is on our website under DIY purge cart. GSC sells one for around 3,500.00 I think. There are other options if this is a one off till you have time to source or build something.

We bought a b&d manufacturing as a last minute resort with a 2hp pump.. We ran out of time to build one so had to purchase it ASAP.
Building one is quite easy, or you could rig some PVC together with a jet pump and some random other plumbing fittings to get you by for now.

The purge cart shopping list on weberwelldrilling.com is very convenient for DIYer's.

Have you called any distributors to see if you can rent one?
In my area there is a distributor that rents a flush cart for $100 for 3 days of use if you have an account with them.
We bought our flush cart from WaterFurnace, you might call your manufacture to see if they sell one.

We made our own flush cart with a plastic barrel and the largest single phase 230V pump we could buy. Think it's a 5hp capable of a 100 gpm at 100' head. We also have a home made flow reverser. I think it's a must have. If you have a loop your fighting with to get the air out our "reversitron"©™ lol. Gets the air out every time.

Does the reversitron 169 mean you just reverse the hoses??? Thats the way we did it, untill the volume of jobs pushed us into something with a few more refinements.

The 169 was a copywrite symbol on my screen as a joke. The reversiton is a piping configuration with 2-3way 2.5" ball valves that allows us to very rapidly change flow direction. Some of our loops have got up to 100 tons with 10-10 ton loops coming to an internal manifold. With the rapid reversing we can slug air out really quick.

It must be out on a job right now. Next time I see it I will post a picture.

My reply was meant as humor as well, lol. I would love to see a picture of that set up the next time it lands back in your yard. We used a auxilary drill pump, 25hp 3x13 centrifigual plumbed to the water tanker to purge the last school we did, it was not elegant but damn effective.

    Hey JPJ13

There is a new Geothermal Purge Cart listed on CRAIGSLIST (New Jersey) for sale, located in Northern NJ.

    Check it out.
