Need list of companies that hire HVAC Tech's for travel Nationwide.

I am looking to travel nationwide doing HVAC work. I love to travel and stay moving. I do not know the proper channels to seek companies that hire technicians for travel to do projects. I would very much appreciate the assistance. Willing to relocate right away.

Look into LVR Mechanical of LVI USA. I work with their energy branch and if mechanical is anything like energy, you'll be on the move quite a bit.

What is the norm for Big Box stores - Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Wegmans, Kohls, Staples, JC Pennys, Sears, etc. Do they have their own crew, or hire local contractors?

Limbach Mechanical has ten branches, so that puts some limit on the travel.

Look for other energy /ESSCO contractors
    I dunno

Staples uses a national account service broker that has access to contractors, and stores are assigned by proximity to the areas serviced by a given contractor.

I would say that over 90% of retail commercial goes this way. Even chains of hair salons do it, with one unit per site.

Lowes, HD, Target (maintenance handles basic HVACR), Staples, Office Depot and Sears are National Accounts through one of the service clearinghouses, although sometimes the malls they are in will sub out HVAC work (depending on the lease terms). Lots of the big boxes use multiple contractors to support their HVAC (one changes filters, one cleans coils, ect.). Walmart/Sams used to have their own techs, but I think they have gone Nat Acct as well...

Stellar refrigeration out of Florida. They do the big boy work. Amonia, central chiller plants etc. they travel all over the world. My brother in laws dad is a super for them and is gone from 10-90 days at a shot. You will get a ton of install experience. They have service depts all over the country as well

I am a hvac tech in Alberta, I have worked in northern Alberta for the past two years, and we have seen a few techs come from companys to do on site training or to help with exisiting problems with their equipment. They have always been inhouse techs for big companys. The techs they send are always specialized.

    Hope this helps.
