    Changing Ice Machine Evap Plate

When one changes an evap plate, do you sand off the nickel on the tibing ends or just braze onto the tubes with nickel on it? I have always sanded down to the copper but it takes almost a lifetime to get the nickel off. Someone suggested to just solder onto the tubes;he said the nickel will burn away. I ony want to do this job once.

    thanks

Well since no one hae an answer, I slightly sanded the nickel and brazed over it. No problems.

I've only done two: a manitowoc, and an scotsman prodigy and both had copper ends so there was no issue...
