RunCap Bandit makes a pass through Southern PA

The Bandit did a little better with the electrical tape in this Rheem heat pump but the cap shows signs of rubbing against the 24V terminals on the contactor. I hope I don't meet the person who did this.

I like how he taped up the terminals on the cap to make sure they don't touch the case of the unit.. but leave it open to touch the side of the contactor and possibly short the 24v to ground.. is the other half of the body of that contactor missing?

Don't forget the cost of the screws to install the pipe strap. Not mention the 10 minutes of labor involved.

Obviously he forgot to leave it in the anti-short cardboard box it came in. That's how they do it in the Detroit.

How does everyone feel about a piece of cork tape adhering the cap to the cabinet?

It's a high voltage device and should get the respect of one, secured properly with a metal strap or similar device. Also, when you install that cap improperly you lose the U.L. rating, there a reason every single one is secured that way, and who's gonna be the next guy to open the cabinet? I'd be pissed.

I prefer to safely secure components in electrical like that with expanding foam.
