Marvin Greene "Marvin" passed away last night here in Las Vegas.

At this time I do not know the cause of death.

I always enjoyed talking with him on the counter or phone. He was an excellent technician and he always had a great story to tell.

He'll be missed here at JS LV by all the guys and gals who knew him. Our credit manager cried when she heard the news.

Marvin was a dear friend to Brenda and I and was truly a man of incredible passion for this trade and also ALWAYS had time for everyone in the industry. He was crusty and had a work ethic second to no one I've known. We loved him like a gruff teddy bear.
Brenda and I will never forget all the hard work he did for us and Digi-Cool.......and he NEVER asked for anything in return but a phone call and a good BS once in a while.....what a prince....RIP Marvin......and say Hi to Bill W.

His daughter just called me and told me the news. For anyone that lives in the Vegas area, there will be a gathering for him at the Sahara saloon this coming monday evening at 7:00 PM.

I too will miss Marvin, as he has taught me a great deal these last few years.

I only knew Marvin a couple years, just long enough to wish I'd met him earlier on in my carreer. The things he taught me will last a lifetime. I'd promised him a zillion times in the last few weeks to come round and see him for coffee. Damn. There's just never enough time. I'm sorry Marvin. You will be sorely missed.

Brenda and I bought him supper there when the AHR show was in Las Vegas......it's a quaint little hideaway off the strip that he sat and drank coffee and smoked cigarettes at to socialize.....he really liked the atmosphere and people there.....

Yep, that's the place. The Sahara Saloon. Took that pic last night. There was a gathering of friends & family. It's funny how respect works, I saw people there who had no love for Marvin, but had the deepest respect for him. Marvin would've been very impressed.

Wow....that's cool. He was old school. A man of incredible honesty and principles. He had all the time in the world for honest hard workers and little time for the opposite. Truly a man of integrity.....Brenda and I'll miss him greatly.... RIP...

Marvin talked highly of you Doug and your Digi-cool program. Once in a while I would stop in at the saloon and have a soda and a few smokes with him and always enjoyed his stories and experiences from the past, nothing better than learning from an old timer.

Thank you for sharing the news of my Dad, Marvin Greene's passing. He died of COPD. One month ago today. I arrived in LV on the evening of the 15th and got to spend five days with him before he passed in his sleep in the early morning hours of Feb 21, 2013. He as a very good man. Had lots of friends. I stumbled upon all of your comments by accident on my computer, but wow, it was really nice to read the comments about my Dad. The only time I ever regretted moving away from home was when I found out he was sick. He will be missed by so many!
