    VIBRATING 40TON RECIP

    What is the probable cause of excessive vibration on recip when loaded ,the valves are ok, conducted a visual i am leaning on crankshaft bearing but am not sure who has experienced this kind of problem? help.

    Does it shake really bad on the wind down?

    Need to isolate compressor and pull heads probably going to find broken pistons or rods. Oh yeah does it do it all the time or just on start up. If just on start up then its a flooded start problem.

    Is it a discus? If the guts are blown out of one of the disc valves it will shake rattle and roll.
