The test is supposed to be designed so that someone with 3 years of school+field experience should be able to pass it, so you shouldn't have any trouble with it.
Some people are better test takers than others though, just be sure you read the entire question, and understand what it is asking.
There will sometimes be more than one answer that could potentially fit the question, just pick the best one.If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

NATE is still relevant? Back in 05 I became NATE certified in a bunch of things, one being heat pump service. Back then I'd never worked on a heat pump because typically up here we have gas packs. Anyway I was scratching my head on some answers but thanks to the guy giving the test . . . I passed .. at the time I was happy to add another certificate to the dozens and dozens I hold but in my head I knew NATE was a b#ll$h!t gimmick to just be a profitable business. A bunch of guys I knew in a vocational class were also testing that night. None had any hvacr service experience. All walked away being certified in service for quite a few things lol. Point made?

The passing rate of NATE tests would not reflect your post. I believe the passing rate of all NATE tests in in the 60+% range. Maybe 8 years ago proctors were "helping" when they shouldn't have been. I haven't seen anything like that and it is of course against the rules. In fact I believe if one person is caught cheating the whole group of tests gets thrown out today.
