Controls tech pay?

Entry Level (HVAC Tech Cert) Less Than 1 Year 25-30k
Installer (Some controls training) 1-3 Years 32-35k
Installer/Controls Service (more controls training and AX cert) 3-5 years 35-50k
Programmer (tons of training and experience) 5+ years 50-60k
Integrator (multi-brand experience complete job from drawings to training customer, manages multiple installs) usually 10+ years 62.5-80k
Project Manager 65-85k?

NJ/Philly area tack on another 10-15k to those numbers.

I recently switched to controls from mechanic. I took a hit in pay just to get into controls but im at 45k with no controls experience but 6+ years mechanic. My company pays our techs 65-90k with 5+ years experience. In Florida that is.

I've got 8 years. But it's not so much the time as trying to pick up as much as you can as fast as you can and trying to excel at it. I've always thought you have to be really anal to be a good tech.

LOL. Yea makes up for some of the other weeks that it comes out to minimum wage!

Thats surprisingly low. I just read through a job post in SoCal for an integrator at 90-110k.

What the cost of living in that area? CA can be expensive as hell, which when factored in is going to bring you back to that range.
