I had an electrician install his wiring right in front of my filter and then inform home owner that I had filter on wrong side of furnace.
Nothing is magic, it works or doesn't work for a reason.

Come on now, at least it's liquid tight...just punch a hole through the back of the junction box and drain it to the outside...easy peasy...and the drain line is heated to boot! Just think of it as an overflow.

K, was this a sparky apprentice that did this or your regular electrician that you use? Or was it even your regular electrician?
What was said when you notified them?"If anybody can draw on the power, where do we put the meter?" - JP Morgan before pulling Tesla funding

Sparky needs to stick to pulling wire and let the smart people do smart people work.

Seeing that reminds of a ice machine we were installing. The plumber showed up the next day while we weren't there and hooked the water lines to the freon line connections. Then his next fatal mistake, he turned the water on and left it on. Went back to finish the install, and discovered the oops. At least it pressure tested okay before he ruined it.
