Snow in carrier 48tj electrical compartment
Has anyone else run into issues with these units getting snow in them. I have run into about 3 already this winter and have repaired many in the past years.

The new ones have a seal at the top of the door to prevent this.

Don't know about carrier, but some manufacturers offer an optional snow kit to prevent it from blowing in

First time running into this problem was last month. Didn't know they sell an "optional" snow kit. These units are ontop of a roof and should be somewhat weatherproof, ya think.

The HX on those units shouldn't crack after 5 years either.... But they do!

Have had numerous Trane rtu's this winter with this issue, enough to cause tripped main breakers, have had to get heat gun out and dry electical.

I have never seen snow get inside a RTU That has the door on right.
Where is it getting in?

Had a building with 18 green carrier weather makers with that awful giant panel that warps and fits rough and you need to zap self tapers into the panel so "snow" doesn't get in.
It is designed to be outside. We have ALOT of war time homes in my area. A lot of people have RTU beside their house on the ground and I have never seen snow inside panel. That's with snow drifts blocking the venter motor .
Maybe I'm lucky or you guys are just unlucky LoL
