Dog pees on goodman and she blows!
6 yr old good split HP. I told them for 2 years to keep the dog from pizzing on the unit, They blew me off.. I get a call and they said they heard a loud pop then alot of smoke.. I figured it was a lug on the compressor, Get there and the lugs were ok but oil everywhere, Then dded nitrogen and heard the hole bloing on the outer coil at the bottom. Blevy!! = New condenser! haha! NOW there is a fence 2 feet away from the unit.

You needed to add nitrogen to find the leak?

Yea, I know, but I could not see it from the inside. only took a shot of nitrogen. I was just sure itwas the lugs blown, and I have never seen a condenser coil blevy like this so I was not looking for it. I learned im never too old to learn.

why did it pop instead of gradually leaking out? was the bottom run rubbing on the base or something?
I can't stand when the dogs bark non-stop, used keep dog treats in the truck to shut them up till I realized it made them (the small ones especially) bark even more

I figured its where Goodman pressed on the aluminum coil over the copper and that it rubbed a weak line in the copper and the urin ate in the rest on the way, and the pressure finally blew it out.
